winter boat storage program

Winter boat storage is available at NBYC.  We have room for several boats in the paved parking area on the club side of Shore Road.  We are NOT going to store boats on the car parking lot side of the street or by the pump station.  Here are the rules:

Ü     File a registration form (similar to summer storage) with John Brousseau.

Ü     Boats on trailers or dollies ONLY – no popits or other stands.

Ü     Power or sail boats of members ONLY.

Ü     No bottom sanding, painting or other major work projects allowed.  (This is storage only – not a working marina.)

Ü     Boats must be removed 1 week prior to docks in day (can be temporarily moved to the car lot IF they are going to be stored at NBYC for the summer).

Ü     Note that it is possible that your boat may be parked in by others and not removable until docks in time.

Ü     Boats and trailers must be “legal” – up to date registration, insurance, etc. and must be in good repair.

Ü     Boats and trailers only – no piles of “boat stuff or other junk” are to be stacked next to them.  Everything is to look neat and orderly.

Ü     Covers must be secure so they do not blow loose, damage other boats, make noise, etc.

Ü     Masts must be removed from sailboats (they can be stored on the boat/trailer, just not stepped).

Ü     You must arrange to park your boat in a location assigned by John Brousseau or Larry Stannard so we have room to work on docks

Ü     Limited space is available and will be assigned on a first come first served basis

Ü     Fee is $10 per foot of boat length plus sales tax.

By December 1st all boats must either be part of the winter storage program outlined above OR removed from any NBYC parking/storage lot.

photos needed NOW for 2009 yearbook

The 2008 season is just coming to a close so before you forget gather up your 2008 club photos and send them to Matt Dowd for possible (only if they’re good enough!!) publication in the 2009 NBYC Yearbook.  Racing, cruising, parties, beach lounging, storms – whatever you have.  The best part of the yearbook is the photos!  And the only way we get them is if you send them in.  You can email digital photos to Matt at mdowd@yahoo.com or, if you have lot and it’s a big file then put them on disc and mail it to him at 55 Terrace Avenue, Niantic, CT  06357.  Some descriptive info (who, what event, etc) is also very helpful.

The only way we have a great photo section is if the membership makes it great.  The yearbook committee needs to get working to have the yearbook done on time so send your photos NOW!!!

Announcements are available by email. To subscribe, send the message "subscribe nbyc-announce" in the body of an email to majordomo @ nbyc.org.
